Hello & Welcome! Plus cat beanie tutorial.

It took me a while to get this website running but it’s finally here! Hope you are enjoying it and hope you will be always coming back.

First, my name is Ana and I am the human behind MysteriousCats, Tommy is the cat. I learned how to crochet not so long ago, using all the amazing material available on the internet. I totally recommend it if you don’t have anybody to teach you.

Crochet for me now is a passion, it gives me the freedom to create whatever I want. There are really no limits and that is the beauty of it! And I love sharing the results of my yarn adventures with you.

Today I decided to tell you how to make a cat beanie. Sounds appropriate for the first post of MysteriousCats.com. I love how cute Tommy looks wearing it and I can tell you I made him loads of different ones. One thing is for sure, Tommy does not like them at all but I am a silly cat owner, what can I do?

I must first tell how this idea of a cat beanie started… Some years ago, I tried a sock as a beanie for Tommy and he seemed quite happy with it so I thought I better make him a proper one! How wrong I was, as cats seem to dislike anything that is made specially for cats.

Tommy is not pleased. But now I’m going to have to try this so I can get some “not pleased” photos of my cats with beanies. Ohhh, I’m thinking Christmas card pictures!!

My pixie doesn’t yet know what I’m laughing at, but soon she will.
I’m thinking pom-poms, stripes, tassels.

That will teach her for bringing that mouse in the house last week.

Isn’t it amazing how our kitties CAN show emotions in their faces! Some say cat’s faces don’t change, but they don’t know cats. Tommy’s whiskers are down and flat, and his eyes are definately not happy

I’m going to try this
Thanks

I ADORE this idea. I was totally inspired by your pattern and made a hat for my cat, haven’t stopped laughing since šŸ˜€

Thanks for the cool tutorial, your cat looks absolutely amazing šŸ˜€

Thanks for this great pattern. My Paddy cat is orange and I have been looking for a pattern to make him a hat with stem for Halloween. I think if I can put a stem on the top of your design I will finally have Paddy’s pumpkin top. Of course, he is orange and chunky so he will not need any more than the hat for a costume. If I get it done in time for Halloween I will send you a photo. Thanks again for sitting down and creating this fun pattern. Pam

Thanks much – can’t wait to make this for my niece. Well, for her cats, actually. šŸ™‚

Looks like a simple enough pattern. However the first step says to sc 6 times onto magic ring. What is a magic ring? Am asking because it’s not listed in the materials needed. I may not be understanding the term. Thanks šŸ™‚

Bet my Thom E will look even more displeased.. Might have a problem.. Do you have this pattern supersized.? Thom E and Finn are both around 20-25 pounds and Finn is part Persian so his head is larger..

Your patterns are just great..

I made one for my great nephews cat. It turned out really cute. I think I’ll make my cat a pink one. Thanks for the pattern.

This is a great and easy pattern, made this for camile the runt of the litter her siblings are over 2lbs and she comes in at 1lb, they are almost 8wks old. The hat is too flippin cute on her! lol

Looove it! hehehe my cats will probably hate it, but any cat lover out there knows that we only put these fun funny hats on them for the few seconds that it takes to take the photo šŸ˜‰ then they are free to go

I made this for my Floppy Joh, and she absolutely loves it. Actually got a little frustrated with me when I took it off of her.

Thank you Ana for sharing your work. My cat was ‘not amused’ with the beanie hat. It took her 30 seconds to take it off and chew on it, but i got the chance to take a pic.

In a world of humans wearing cat ears on their heads in the “crochet cat beanie pattern” search, you are a breath of fresh air. Also… my poor kitty doesn’t know what’s coming. šŸ™‚

Hello! Thank you so much for posting this pattern. One of my friends ordered a cat Viking hat….and I could not find a pattern. I took your beanie and used the basic ideas to make the basis for the Viking hat. I am currently getting a crochet blog up and running. (I’m so excited!) Since my pattern is inspired by yours, can I put a link in my blog that takes people to this page? Thanks!

cute beanie, my mini would not let us put this in her head for sure but it is so cute.

I was wondering how many chains I do for the first round? I am so very confused, other people seemed to have figured it out! Please help :O
