I don’t know about you but I’ve never found a tissue box that fits in with my toilet. So I decided to change that and make a cover which will always look good there.
Funny, I don’t have many cat art around the house. Probably because Tommy (my tabby) is decorative enough.
Why not a cat cover then? What do you think, does it look good in my toilet?
Cat Tissue Box Cover Free Crochet Pattern
This cover is for a 12 cm X 11 cm X 12 cm / 4.7″ X 4.3″ X 4.7″ box. If you have a different box just add / remove chains to the first row of the body and / or add / remove rows for the length.
You will need:
- DK / Light worsted yarn in orange, light pink and brown
- 4 mm / G crochet hook
- needle to join parts
With orange yarn, ch 22.
Row 1: sc in yhe 2nd ch from hook. Sc in every st across. Turn. (21)
Row 2 – Row 13: sc in each st across. Turn. (21)
Row 14: sc in next 3 sts, ch 15, skip next 15 sts, sc in next 3 sts. Turn.
Row 15: sc in next 3 sts, sc in next 15 ch, sc in next 3 sts. Turn. (21)
Row 16 – Row 26: sc in each st across. Turn. (21)
Row 27: sc in each st across. Don’t turn. (21)
Sc around the piece. Aim for 26 scs each side and 21 scs on the bottom. Now we’ll work on rounds.
Rnd 1: using back loop only, sc in each st around. (94)
Rnd 2 – Rnd 31: sc in each st around. (94)
Sl st in next st and fasten off.
With orange yarn.
Rnd 1: sc 6 in magic ring.
Rnd 2: 2 scs in every st around. (12)
Rnd 3: sc in each st around. (12)
Rnd 4: *sc in next st, 2 scs in next st* Repeat from * around. (18)
Rnd 5: sc in each st around. (18)
Rnd 6: *sc in next 2 sts, 2 scs in next st* Repeat from * around. (24)
Rnd 7 – Rnd 8: sc in each st around. (24)
Sl st in next st. Fasten off and leave enough yarn to stitch closed ear and attach it to head.
- With light pink yarn, embroider ear detail.
- Attach ears to body / head.
- With light pink yarn, embroider nose.
- With brown yarn, embroider eyes.
And it’s ready! No more ugly tissue covers.
